The overall objective of (WESDE)
The overall objective of Water Energy and Sanitation for Development (WESDE) is to promote local development and self-reliance, especially in rural areas. It is expected that the project would sustainably improve the delivery of water and sanitation services through local participation and provide health care for neglected populations
Women and Develoment
Water, energy and sanitation are three of the most important resources for development and fighting world hunger. Women play a vital role in ensuring that these resources are used effectively and efficiently. They are often the primary users and managers of these resources in their households and communities. In addition, women are often the ones who bear the brunt of the negative impacts of water, energy and sanitation insecurity. Therefore, investing in women’s empowerment in these sectors is critical to achieving sustainable development and fighting world hunger.
